I Live This Moment as My Last

The past three months of Carleigh Callum's life had been spent on the Palliative Care ward of Saving Grace Memorial Hospital. Patients only go to the Palliative Care ward if they are suffering from a terminal illness.Carleigh had been HIV positive since birth, the doctors had only given her a few more months. She'd been getting weaker and was currently battling a very nasty flu bug, making her immune system weaker that her naturally weak one had already been. She hadn't had a visitor in months.

Jeff walked the halls after his rehab visit. He hadn't been on this side of the hospital before. He knew that this was terminal illness stayed, but he had no idea how bad it was. He stopped at one room and saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen before

Carleigh spotted him the doorway. "If you're here to get me to sign your book, I'm sorry, but I don't really feel well enough for that right now."

"I'm sorry." Jeff said surprised that she didn't know who he was

"Kinda dyin' here. Not all that strong right now."

"I don't know who you are, but I was just thinking your the most beautiful sight I have seen in a long time."

She smiled weakly. "I'm Carleigh Callum, New York Times bestselling author. And you are?"

"Jeff Hardy. Professional wrestler." He said with a warm smile

"Wrestler huh, sounds dangerous."

"It is..I have been in th we hospital more than once, but nothing to serious. "

"Do you...wanna come in, and sit down?"

"I don't want to be a both on you." He started before being cut off

"I haven't had a visitor 'cept my brothers in months, it's no bother, handsome."

He smiled walking into her room and sitting down in the chair next to her bed

"You're not from New York, are you?" Carleigh asked. "Your accent doesn't fit."

"No. I'm from Cameron North Carolina. I'm a southern boy.'

She smiled, nodding. "I was born here, but I grew up in Seattle. That's where my foster dad lives."

Jeff nodded" does he visit you often? " he asked

Another nod. "He relocated his publishing business when I moved here yo find my older brother."

He nodded

Carleigh reached into her bag by her bed, and handed him a book. "Here."

Jeff tok the boom and looked at her" what's this?" He asked

"That's the first book in my series. Book five comes out later this month, and I'm writing book six."

Jeff nodded" Looks like I'm going to have something to keep me entertained when I'm not visiting you."

A soft smile. "That one hit the stores when I was eighteen."
